Summer Reading Clubs Help Kids in NJ

Libraries in New Jersey host summer reading clubs where people of all ages are invited to read for prizes and attend special events and activities.  These programs are fun and educational, but many also provide safe, supervised activities for children in areas where such opportunities are few and far between.  Participating in summer reading has been proven to significantly combat “summer learning loss” and help close the achievement gap for many children. Last year, over 140,000 children were enrolled in summer reading clubs across the state.
